Geography Applied Module for 3 days over the school year, Day 1, October 21 at John Polyani Rm 133
This module will support for teachers of Grade 9 Applied Geography who are interested in working towards the Revised curriculum.
Teachers must commit to attending all 3 days and sharing and providing feedback as to how they have incorporated their learning into their practice.
Schools will cover day 2
Description
1 Full Day (October 21): will introduce the literacy & numeracy frameworks (Ministry of Education) Geographical Thinking Concepts, Assessment for/as learning and Differentiated Instruction plus application of a range of special technologies Day 2- Full Day (November TBD) Exploration Classrooms (3 different locations) to be led by teacher co-facilitators.
Schools must cover the cost of Day 2
Day 3 Full Day (February TBD) sharing of learning and best practices and next steps.
Ongoing– online conferencing, reference materials & school visits, as per requests
Follow-up –Conduct a needs assessment with the teachers to determine opportunity gaps and next steps
Target Audience & maximum size: 20 Grade 9 CGC1P classroom teachers
